Exploring the future of London’s culture

• £10m is generated every hour by the Creative Industries
• 1 in 6 jobs in London are in the creative economy
• £52bn is contributed by culture and creativity to London's economy per year

• Three of the top ten museums and galleries in the world are in London
• London has four UNESCO world heritage sites: Tower of London, Maritime Greenwich, Westminster Palace and Kew's Royal Botanic Gardens.
• There are over 300 languages spoken in London, more than any other city in the world.

At an All-Assembly meeting tomorrow, Members will ask questions about London's cultural offering. The guests are:

• Justine Simons OBE, Deputy Mayor for Culture and the Creative Industries
• Shonagh Manson, Assistant Director of Culture and Creative Industries, Greater London Authority

Following the Q&A, Assembly Members will debate these motions.

The meeting will take place on Thursday 2 July 2026 from 10am in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.
