The 10 Year Review of the Women
in Finance Charter
Details
In March 2016, HM Treasury launched the Women in Finance Charter
to improve gender diversity in financial services and move
towards greater gender balance in senior management. Ten years
later, the Charter has approximately 400 signatories, covering
about 1.2 million employees across the sector.
This 10 Year Review assesses the impact of a decade of the
Charter on signatories and the financial services industry,
covering in particular:
- The impact of the Charter over the past decade
- How the Charter has influenced signatories' approaches to
improve female representation, particularly against the Charters'
four main principles of:
- Have one member of the senior executive team who is
responsible and accountable for gender diversity and
inclusion
- Set internal targets for gender diversity in senior
management
- Publish progress annually against these targets on a page
on the company's website dedicated to their Charter
commitment
- Have an intention to ensure the pay of the senior
executive team is linked to delivery against these
internal targets on gender diversity.
- The challenges ahead for the next 10 years
