MPs to question Director of Public Prosecutions

The Justice Committee will hear from Stephen Parkinson, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and head of the Crown Prosecution Service, during a scrutiny evidence session on the work of the CPS.

MPs on the cross-party committee, chaired by Labour MP Andy Slaughter, will examine the performance of the CPS, including high profile prosecutions and support for victims.

Discussion is also likely to focus on improving the criminal justice system's response to violence against women and girls (VAWG) and domestic abuse, as well as exploring the response to public disorder and protests.

The DPP last gave evidence to the Committee in 2024.
