On Tuesday 9 June from
11:00am, the House of Lords European Affairs Committee
will continue
its inquiry into dynamic alignment.
Across two sessions the Committee
will take evidence on parliamentary
scrutiny, of:

the UK's prospective new agreements with
the EU
that will involve a UK commitment to dynamically align with EU
rules; and
-
an ongoing system
of UK dynamic
alignment thereafter.
The Committee will hear
first from experts and
then from practitioners: Sir , the former Chair of
the House of Common's European Scrutiny
Committee, and the Earl
of Kinnoull, the former Chair of the House of
Lords European Affairs
Committee.

Members are likely to explore a range
of topics including:
-
Parliamentary scrutiny of the
prospective UK-EU dynamic alignment
agreements: a Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS)
Agreement, to form a Common SPS Area; an agreement linking the
two parties' Emissions Trading Schemes (ETSs); and an
Electricity Agreement, under which the UK would participate in
the EU's Internal Electricity
Market.

The Government's European
Partnership Bill, which is expected to make provision
for the implementation of these new agreements
in UK law

Dynamic alignment as an ongoing
process: stages, options and
scrutiny
