Government must cut fuel duty as petrol and diesel prices rise again, say Lib Dems

Responding to research indicating that the cost of the conflict with Iran could hit UK drivers with a £1 billion bill at the pumps, Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesperson Daisy Cooper MP said:

"Trump's Iran war has cost British drivers an extra £1 billion and counting in higher petrol prices.
 

"While families are squeezed at the pump, Rachel Reeves is raking in more tax.

"That's not right. It's time to cut fuel duty now and put money back in people's pockets.”
