The Leader of the Commons, Sir Alan Campbell announced during his weekly business statement that the State Opening of Parliament and King's Speech will take place on Wednesday, May 13.

He also added that the date for Prorogation will be announced in "due course." Normally, this is usually about a week before the State Opening
