Ministers face ESNZ questions on UK energy costs in wake of action on Iran

In the final session of its inquiry into the cost of energy the Energy Security and Net Zero Committee will question Energy minister Michael Shanks on what is next for UK energy bills.  

The second part of the Committee's inquiry has focused on the “non-commodity” costs on our energy bills - policy costs, network costs, debt – that are predicted to keep energy bills high even if the wholesale price of gas came down to zero.  

But with the conflict with Iran, the wholesale price is now only expected to rise.  

What is the UK Government going to do now to weather another fossil fuel price crisis and mitigate the impact of future ones?
