The First Minister and deputy First Minister have today launched
a 12-week public consultation on the draft Framework for Race
Relations and delivery plan.
The draft Framework sets out a strategic vision for advancing
racial equality beyond 2025.
Building on the achievements of the Racial Equality Strategy
2015–2025, and informed by engagement with a range of
stakeholders, the new Framework reflects society today with a
focus on dealing with inequalities through an inclusive, and
evidence-informed approach.
First Minister said: “We want to build a
society where everyone feels respected and valued and our
commitment to equality, fairness and justice is at the heart of
that.
“This Framework will help guide our work in the years ahead, with
a shared vision of a society where diversity is valued and where
everyone can live free from discrimination.”
Deputy First Minister said: “We want
everyone in Northern Ireland, regardless of race or ethnicity, to
thrive, contribute meaningfully, and feel a genuine sense of
belonging. And this draft Framework represents a renewed and
strategic effort to make that a reality.
“Together, we can create a future where everyone feels safe,
valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.”
