Oral evidence
3pm Wednesday 11 March
The Government published its long-awaited Warm Homes Plan in
January.
The Warm Homes Plan is a broad set of measures, including
existing schemes and a new loan scheme, aimed
at enhancing energy security, reducing energy
bills and fuel poverty and supporting employment
in the home energy retrofit sector.
On Wednesday 11 March the
Committee will hold a one-off evidence session
examining the adequacy of measures in the
Plan intended to help address fuel
poverty, and support the workforce to
meet the anticipated growth in demand for
clean home energy technologies.
Areas of questioning will likely cover:
- Whether the Plan can deliver on its aim to help
lift 1 million households out of fuel poverty by
2030
- The support on offer for low-income households and the
impact of consumer loan schemes on demand
- The measures needed to drive energy efficiency
improvements in all privately rented
housing by 2030
- What role the cost of energy will play in achieving the Warm
Homes Plan's ambitions
- Building
and maintaining the workforce to develop
and roll out clean energy technologies across the
country
- The Boiler Upgrade Scheme, getting heat
pump installations on track and the place of home
insulation in the Plan
