Science Secretary Rt Hon Liz Kendall MP and Lord Vallance to be quizzed on Government’s priorities for UK Science and Innovation

On Tuesday 3 March, the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee will hold a one-off ministerial session with Rt Hon Liz Kendall MP, Secretary of State for the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology.  The committee is expected to quiz the minister on her key priorities in the role, what she is hoping to achieve in post and what she has achieved so far.  

From 2pm the committee will hear from:  

• Rt Hon Liz Kendall MP, Secretary of State for the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology 

• Lord Patrick Vallance, Minister of State for Science, Research and Innovation (also Minister of State for Nuclear in DESNZ)  

• Emran Mian, Permanent Secretary, Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology    

The public evidence session will take place from 2pm in Committee Room 3, Palace of Westminster on Tuesday 3 March 2026 and can be viewed live on parliamentlive.tv.
