Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority: Local Nature Recovery Strategy published and Delivery Plan set for this summer

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority has published the Local Nature Recovery Strategy, which is a bold plan to revive and protect nature across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.  

Developed in collaboration with partners across the area, the strategy outlines a shared vision to enhance biodiversity, expand wild spaces, and promote nature-friendly land use. Its goal is to build more resilient ecosystems and expand green habitats for future generations. 

As a locally led, government‑supported initiative, the strategy identifies where and how nature can be restored, helping communities, landowners, and organisations work together to reconnect people with the natural world. 

The strategy and all supporting documents are available to view online here. 

The strategy now becomes a formal part of the planning system and will inform Local Plans as they are reviewed.  The Delivery Plan of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy is scheduled to be presented to the Growth Committee in June 2026.
