has been appointed as
Business Adviser to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
The position as a Direct Ministerial
Appointment commences from today, 12 January 2026. Ms
Martin will continue to work directly with and her team of Treasury
ministers to strengthen engagement with business leaders across
the UK.
The appointment reflects the government's commitment to working
hand-in-hand with business to deliver economic growth. Ms Martin
brings extensive experience of the business and economic
landscape to the role and has previously served as the
Chancellor's Chief of Staff.

Ms Martin will work four days a week in the Treasury on an unpaid
basis as a direct ministerial appointment, with an
initial appointment term of 12 months.
