Festive travellers and those returning to work will be able to
leave their cars at home, as West Yorkshire Combined Authority
will put on more than 90 bus services this Boxing Day.
As in previous years, buses will run on selected routes across
West Yorkshire, from 9am and 6pm on Friday 26 December.
Services will run up to every 30 minutes, in and out of main town
and city centres, hospitals and shopping centres.
The Mayor's Fares mean single tickets will be a maximum of £2.50,
and all MCards, Senior, Disabled and Blind Person's passes will
be valid, as will individual bus operator season tickets.
Passengers planning on making three or more journeys on Boxing
Day can buy an MCard DaySaver for £6 and save even more.
The services are run using funds from West Yorkshire Combined
Authority's Bus Service Improvement Plan.
, Mayor of West Yorkshire
said:
“We all love the festive period, and Boxing Day is often a
time for people to visit loved ones, hit the sales or go to
sporting fixtures, while others need to be back at work.
“That's why we're funding vital bus services to
keep West Yorkshire moving, helping people get to where they need
to be.
“This shows our commitment to creating a
greener, better-connected region that works for
all.”
