Lords publish waste crime response letter from the Government

The House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee has today (Wednesday 10 December) published the letter it has received from Emma Reynolds MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in response to its letter outlining the findings and recommendations from the Committee's inquiry into illegal waste crime (sent on Tuesday 28 October).

Baroness Sheehan, Chair of the House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee said:

“The Committee is deeply disappointed with the Government's complacent response. It will give succour to the organised criminal gangs who are profiteering from waste crime and inflicting misery on impacted communities across the country whilst damaging precious environments. I will be writing to the Secretary of State in due course.”
