Peers urged to "do the right thing” and let the government deliver stronger rights for millions  - TUC

Ahead of the Employment Rights Bill returning to the House of Lords today (Wednesday), Trades Union Congress General Secretary, Paul Nowak, said: 

"The Employment Rights Bill will deliver long overdue and hugely popular reforms like banning exploitative zero hours contracts, protection from harassment at work and sick pay for all.  

“Now that the elected House of Commons has passed this Bill, it's time for Peers to do the right thing, back this Bill – and allow the government to deliver stronger rights for millions of workers. 

"Further delay could put at risk vital rights like day one sick pay from being delivered and enacted from April.”
