The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority has
today launched a public consultation on its draft Budget for
2026–27 and Medium-Term Financial Plan (MTFP) for 2029–30,
inviting residents, businesses, and community organisations to
share their views.
The proposals set out how the Combined Authority intends to
allocate resources in the year ahead and over the next four
years, aligning investment to the priorities in the Corporate
Plan - boosting growth, improving connectivity, supporting jobs,
delivering homes, strengthening resilience, and improving
performance across the region.
Residents can review the draft Budget and accompanying technical
appendices and complete a short online questionnaire. Feedback
submitted through the consultation will help shape the final
Budget and MTFP that the Board will consider in January 2026.
Mayor of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, , said:
“My proposal for 2026/27 is clear: we will not increase the
Mayoral Precept, and we will introduce more free parking to help
boost key high streets and Peterborough city centre. At a time
when many households and businesses are feeling the pressure,
it's important that we manage our resources carefully while
continuing to invest in the things that matter most for our
region. This consultation is an opportunity for people to tell us
what they think, and I encourage everyone to take part.”
The consultation runs from 1st December 2025 to
12th January 2026.
