Lords Liaison Committee recommend four new Committees for 2026

The House of Lords Liaison Committee has recommended the House appoint four new special inquiry committees to undertake inquires and publish reports by the end of November 2026.  

The Liaison Committee recommends the House establish new Committees to investigate:

• The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 – to undertake post-legislative scrutiny of the Act.

• Childhood vaccination rates – to consider childhood vaccination rates in England.

• National Resilience - to consider national resilience, including the role of local resilience

• Numeracy - to consider numeracy in England

It is expected the House will consider the recommendations to appoint the new Committees in early December.

The Chair and members of the Committee will be appointed in the New Year. Once the Committees have been appointed they will meet and subsequently agree a Call for Evidence setting out the scope of their inquiries and the key issues they are seeking evidence on.
