Research on mapping the AI and
software cyber security services market: privacy
notice
Details
The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology
(DSIT)
has commissioned research to map the landscape of AI and software cyber security
services in the UK. This project aims to better understand the
skills, services, and tools available to support organisations in
the UK in meeting the requirements of the Global Standard for
AI Cyber Security
and the Software Security Code of Practice.
What is this research about?
DSIT
has conducted extensive work to reduce the cyber risks to a
number of technologies by setting baseline expectations. As part
of this work, DSIT
has developed the Global Standard for AI Cyber Security and the
Software Security Code of Practice. Last year DSIT
commissioned an analysis of the market for AI and software cyber security
services.
The research will build on this market analysis, and will consist
of a telephone survey of UK-based organisations that provide
AI and/or software
cyber security services. It will identify the range of services
and tools offered, assess the extent to which these services and
tools will help organisations meet DSIT
policy, assess awareness of relevant codes and standards, and
explore how AI is
currently used in cyber security. The findings will inform future
policy and help ensure the UK remains a global leader in secure
software and AI
innovation.
Who is being invited to take part?
Organisations identified as providing AI and/or software cyber
security services will be invited to participate in a survey
conducted via telephone. Participation is voluntary and open to
any organisation offering AI cyber security or software
security tools or services. The survey does not target
individuals with specific job titles, but does require the
respondent to have sufficient knowledge of the organisation's
cyber security tools and services to be able to answer questions
about them.
How will your data be used?
All information collected will be treated in the strictest
confidence and in line with data protection legislation.
Responses will be anonymised and aggregated before being shared
with DSIT.
No information that could identify individual participants or
organisations will be published or shared outside the research
team without explicit consent.
