This application form should be completed by postmasters who
experienced financial losses and harm as a result of the Capture
software.
It can also be completed by a legal representative or by a
personal representative if the postmaster cannot apply for
themselves.

Processing applications
The Capture Redress Scheme is processing applications in phases.
You can submit an application for the first phase from 29 October
2025. The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) will accept 150
applications as part of the first phase.
DBT will
update this page and the ‘how to apply' section of
the scheme guidance page once group 1 has closed.
Why DBT is processing
applications in phases
Because this is a new scheme being done in a new way,
DBT wants
to ensure it is fair, proportionate and accessible.
DBT will
review any lessons from the first phase and make improvements
before accepting more applications.
