The CMA has published its response to DBT's call for evidence on the opt-out collective actions regime.

The CMA's response highlights the need for public and private enforcement to work well together to maximise the effectiveness of the UK's competition law regime, and sets out the CMA's views on:

• how concurrent private and public enforcement action should be approached
• the circumstances in which cooperating businesses should be protected from private enforcement action
• whether empowering the CMA to order redress in CA98 cases could reduce the need for private enforcement action
