Economy Minister Dr today announced 20 high
quality training places on a Business Operations and Technology
Assured Skills Academy with EY.
Funded by the Department for the Economy, the Academy will offer
a blend of onsite and online learning delivered in partnership
with Belfast Met from November 10 to 18 December 2025. The
intensive six-week training programme will take place at both the
Springvale and Titanic campuses.
Learning will provide practical experience working in a Strategy
and Transactions role, providing participants with essential
tools and resources to enhance business skills and technical
expertise. Participants who successfully complete the Academy are
guaranteed a job interview for a role at EY as well as the
opportunity to gain industry recognised qualifications.
Highlighting the opportunity, the Minister
said: “This latest Academy with EY and Belfast Met
will provide an exciting opportunity to develop a career with a
major multinational company.
“Assured Skills Academies have a very strong track record
of success in upskilling people and broadening the local skills
base which is a key element to growing our economy.
“I would encourage everyone who is interested and
eligible, to apply.”

Northern Ireland is proud to once again partner with Invest
Northern Ireland and the Department for the Economy to launch our
seventh Assured Skills Academy, focusing on Business
Operations and Technology.
“Successful candidates will work in our Strategy and Transactions
practice where they will gain hands-on experience working
alongside leading local and international firms, helping them
solve their most complex challenges across business operations
and technology in the context of M&A (mergers and
acquisitions).
“We are actively encouraging individuals of all backgrounds to

entrepreneurial background, as well as career changers,
graduates, and those returning to the workforce."
Damian Duffy, Belfast Met's interim Principal and Chief
Executive, added: “The college has a long and successful track
record in delivering Assured Skills Academies and we are
delighted to be partnering with EY once again.
“This new Academy will equip participants with valuable
operations and technology skills while supporting the growing
need for talent across Northern Ireland's professional services
sector.”
Participants will receive a training allowance of £180 per week
plus travel and childcare expenses for the duration of the
academy.
Applications are open now and close at 10am on Monday 13 October
2025.
Applicants must be over 18 years old, have been awarded at least
a Foundation Degree in any subject and be eligible to work in the
UK.
