UN Space tsar to address Lords committee on Space

The cross-party Lords UK Engagement with Space Committee will today quiz Aarti Holla-Maini, Director of the UN Office of Outer Space (Monday September 8). 

The evidence session of the Lords UK Engagement with Space Committee will take place from 3.30pm in Committee Room 3, Palace of Westminster, and can be watched live, or later, here on Parliament TV (link here). 

This final public session will give the Committee an opportunity to ask about international space law, global co-operation on orbital issues and the UK's role in future international collaboration. 

Questions to be raised are likely to focus on: 

• The work being done by UNOOSA (United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs) to promote the peaceful uses of outer space  

• How effective the UK has been in shaping global conversations 

• How the UK is able to satisfy twin goals of promoting sustainability and maintaining a world-leading space economy 

• The UK's relationship with the European Space Agency and EU 

• The UK's relationships with other international partners.
