Round-up of recent stakeholder changes and appointments

The following appointments and changes have been made since July 21

Government appointments on September 1

• Darren Jones MP - Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister (previously Chief Secretary to the Treasury)
• James Murray MP - Chief Secretary to the Treasury (previously Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury)
• Daniel Tomlinson MP - Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury
• Baroness Shafik - Prime Minister's Chief Economic Advisor
• Tim Allen - Prime Minister's Executive Director of Communications

Other changes

• Rushanara Ali resigned as Minister for Homelessness and Democracy
• Afzal Khan resigned as trade envoy to Turkey
• Lord Moraes replaced Lord Lemos as a Government Whip
• Tom Kibasi was seconded from NHS England as an adviser to the Prime Minister
• Jade Leung was appointed as the Prime Minister's AI adviser following the resignation of Matt Clifford
• Jenny Scott was appointed to the Treasury's board of directors
• Richard Brooks was appointed Special Adviser to the Attorney General

Labour Party

• Following the marriage of MPs Louise Jones and Jeevun Sandher, Jones will now be known as Louise Sandher-Jones

Conervative Party

• Mark Garnier was appointed Shadow Pensions Minister (in addition to being Shadow Economic Secretary to the Treasury)

Lords

• Lord Paul (Non-affiliated), Lord Desai (Crossbench) and Lord Sawyer (Labour) died

Scotland 

• Colin Smyth MSP had the Labour whip suspended following his arrest
• Jeremy Balfour MSP resigned from the Conservative Party and now sits as an independent
• Graham Simpson defected from the Conservative Party to Reform UK

Wales

• Hefin David, Labour MS for Caerphilly, died
• Conservative Laura Anne Jones defected to Reform

Civil Service

• Paul Kissack has been appointed as the new Permanent Secretary of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
