MPs to question Public Health Minister in final session of First 1000 Days of Life inquiry

Wednesday 3 September, at 9.30am, Room 6, Palace of Westminster

The Minister of State for Public Health and Prevention, Ashley Dalton, will be questioned by the Health and Social Care Committee, in the final evidence session of their inquiry into the First 1000 Days of Life, at 9:30am on Wednesday 3 September.

The session will be an opportunity for MPs to draw on the evidence they have heard throughout the span of the inquiry, including on Family Hubs, workforce shortages, and vaccination uptake.

The Minister will face questions on the plans set out in the 10 Year Health Plan, including on the digitalisation of the ‘red book' and plans for neighbourhood health centres, with MPs likely to explore how they may differ from Family Hubs.

The Committee will also ask the Minister whether they recognise the workforce shortages among the professions that support children and their families in the first 1,000 days, and how the Government will address these shortages.
