The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has confirmed the
successful signatories to the UK Stewardship Code 2020 following
the latest round of applications under the current framework. The
Code now has 299 signatories representing £56 trillion assets
under management, including 199 asset managers, 21 service
providers - and 79 asset owners, two of whom are new additions.
These signatories join under the current 2020 Code framework. As
the FRC implements the revised UK Stewardship Code 2026, existing
signatories will have the opportunity to report to the new
framework during a transition year in 2026. For more information

The UK Stewardship Code, as part of a comprehensive regulatory
framework, is an established global benchmark for best practice
in stewardship, driving transparency and accountability in the
investment chain. The FRC recently published its revised 2026 Code, which
provides an updated set of principles offering a reporting
framework that demonstrates high-quality stewardship to support
economic growth and investment.
The FRC developed the 2026 Code through comprehensive
consultation from February 2024 to February 2025, engaging over
1,500 stakeholders. The consultation responses strongly supported
the principles, endorsing high stewardship standards whilst
reducing administrative reporting burdens. They were also
supportive of the implementation of a transition period
through 2026 to allow current signatories to familiarise
themselves with the new format.

the overwhelming support from stakeholders for the Code and how
it has driven high standards of stewardship globally. The FRC
will continue to support signatories during the transition year
as they consider reporting against the new Code.”
