Northern Ireland Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald has launched a three-year Apprenticeship Action Plan.

The Apprenticeship Action Plan aims to expand the pipeline of talent for business and help more people access apprenticeship opportunities.

The plan builds on the well-established Apprenticeship system that is well regarded and has experienced growth in recent years. It sets out three broad themes:

a. Improve – make the apprenticeship system more effective, more successful, innovative and ready to meet the needs of both the workforce and employers.

b. Grow – the apprenticeship system to increase the employers and individuals benefiting from enhanced skills provision.

c. Include – purposefully ensure all sectors of society within apprenticeship, including those who have traditionally been marginalised in employment.
