A recruitment process to appoint a new Chair of the Tees Valley
Business Board has today been launched.
The Business Board plays a vital role in representing the voice
of the region's business community and ensuring that local
business leaders have a direct influence on the decisions and
projects that drive economic growth across Tees Valley.
The new Chair will lead the Business Board in advising the Tees
Valley Combined Authority, including sitting as a non-voting
member on the Combined Authority Cabinet.
The Board will have a continuing focus on securing Inward
Investment, Business Growth and Skills - helping to attract new
businesses to the region, supporting existing businesses to
expand, and ensuring that local people have the skills needed to
access high-quality jobs.
The Board is made up of private sector experts with real hands-on
experience of running successful businesses or working in senior
positions, with a breadth of diverse business knowledge covering
the entire region.
The Chair will be responsible for the running of the Business
Board. They will guide and influence the Board at a strategic
level providing confident, clear and consistent leadership in the
unpaid role.
LV Logistics Company Ambassador Matthew Ord currently chairs the
board on an interim basis.

expertise and experience of our business leaders directly into
the decision-making process.

The deadline for applications is 26 August, with interviews
scheduled for early September.
The appointment will be subject to approval by the Tees Valley
Combined Authority Cabinet on 26 September.
