Today [Tuesday 22nd July 2025] Leader of
the Conservative Party has made changes to her
frontbench team.
As the Conservative Party continues its
mission of renewal, the changes reflect the next phase of the
Policy Renewal Programme, as key policy commissions prepare to
report at Conservative Party Conference 2025 in October. Unlike
Labour and Reform, the Leader of the Opposition has vowed not to
make announcements without a proper plan to deliver
them.
These changes also reflect the unity of the
Party under new leadership and signal a step up in campaigning
activity.

want to get on in life.
Frontbench Team
The changes to the Conservative Party's
frontbench are as follows:

joins the Shadow Cabinet
as Shadow Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local
Government

becomes Conservative
Party Chairman, alongside Deputy Chairman (who also continues as a
Shadow Minister of State for the Home Office)

joins the Shadow Cabinet as
Shadow Minister for Policy Renewal and Development. will continue to chair the
Policy Oversight Committee

has been appointed Shadow
Secretary of State for Health and Social Care

has been appointed
Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport

has been appointed Shadow
Secretary of State for Transport

has been appointed Shadow
Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and
Technology
, and have left the Shadow Cabinet. also leaves the Shadow Cabinet
but remains Shadow Minister for London, as well as taking on the
new role of Shadow Minister of State for Housing and Planning.

Operation
Following the appointment of as the new Chief Executive at
CCHQ, the Leader of the Opposition will be making some further
changes to her political operation:

will be stepping back from
his position as Chief of Staff. After getting Kemi's leadership
team off to a successful start and helping her to initiate the
renewal and transformation of the Conservative Party, Lee will
be returning to the private sector, as was always
envisaged

will take over now as Chief
of Staff, and Lee will support the team transition until the
end of October
-
will be joining the Leader
of the Opposition's team as an Adviser on a pro-bono basis. He
will occasionally attend Shadow Cabinet and sit on the Policy
Oversight Committee
The Leader of the Opposition plans to make
further appointments to her political operation in due
course.
