Britain Remade responds to Sizewell C final investment decision

Responding to Sizewell C receiving its final investment decision, Sam Richards, CEO of pro-growth campaign group Britain Remade, said:

“The green light for Sizewell C's final investment decision is a major step towards delivering secure, domestic clean energy for millions of households. But if we're serious about energy security, reducing emissions, and reindustrialising our economy, the government must go much further.

“New nuclear projects in Britain still take too long and cost too much to build. To deliver new nuclear faster and more affordably, we need to cut unnecessary red tape, accelerate the planning process, and show real commitment to building a true fleet of nuclear power stations—similar to the successful model used in South Korea, where plants are built up to six times more cheaply than in the UK.
