Round-up of recent stakeholder changes and appointments

The following appointments and changes have been made since June 16

Government

• Vicky Foxcroft resigned as a whip

Select Committees

• Committee of Selection – Christian Wakeford replaced Vicky Foxcroft
• Education - Sir James Cleverly replaced Patrick Spencer
• Joint Committee on National Security Strategy - Sir Gavin Williamson replaced Sir Julian Lewis
• Procedure - Sir Gavin Williamson replaced Richard Holden
• Public Accounts - Blake Stephenson replaced Rebecca Paul

Labour Party

• Balshen Izzet appointed as the Prime Minister's senior communications adviser
• Neil Duncan-Jordan, Brian Leishman, Chris Hinchliff and Rachael Maskell had the party whip removed for repeated breaches of party discipline
• Dianne Abbott also had the whip withdrawn (again) for her remarks about racism
• Rosena Allin Khan, Bell Ribeiro-Addy and Mohammed Yasin were stripped of their trade envoy roles for breaches of Labour Party discipline

Lords

• Viscount Waverley (Crossbench, hereditary peer) retired
• Lord Redesdale changed party from Liberal Democrat to non-affiliated
• Mark Tanner, Bishop of Chester, took his seat
• Dr Alan Smith, Bishop of St Albans, retired
• Lord Lipsey (Labour), Lord Blair of Boughton (Crossbench) and Lord Marlesford (Conservative) died.

Lords Committee

• Northern Ireland Scrutiny – Lord McInnes of Kilwinning discharged

Conservatives in the Scottish Parliament

• Alexander Stewart appointed as shadow cabinet secretary for social security (in addition to shadow minister for local government and public finance)
• Liz Smith appointed as shadow minister without portfolio (previously shadow cabinet secretary for social security)
• Pam Gosal is no longer shadow minister for investment and employment, but continues as deputy party chair
• Stephen Kerr appointed as shadow minister for employment and investment

Wales

• Wayne David announced we will step down at the end of July as Chief of Staff to Welsh First Minister Eluned Morgan
