Lords Building Safety Regulator inquiry hears from Dame Judith Hackitt

The House of Lords Industry and Regulators Committee continues its inquiry into the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) by hearing from Dame Judith Hackitt, Chair of the Building Control Independent Panel (BCIP).

The session will run from 10am on Tuesday 15 July and can be followed live or afterwards on Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 1, Palace of Westminster.

Members are expected to ask questions on:

• progress since Dame Judith Hackitt's Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety;
  
  
• whether the culture of the construction industry has improved since the Grenfell Tower fire;
  
  
• the impact of the BSR's regulatory framework on ensuring that developers and building owners understand what they are required to do;
  
  
• communication, engagement and feedback provided by the BSR;
  
  
• reasons for the delays of BSR approvals;
  
  
• BSR resources and if it has access to the skilled staff necessary to carry out multidisciplinary assessments of safety;
  
  
• how the BSR's work relates to the regulation of construction products.
