On Tuesday morning, the Housing, Communities and Local Government
(HCLG) Committee holds a one-off evidence session examining the
range of housing options for later life, including Older Persons
Shared Ownership, and park homes.
The session will explore the findings and recommendations of the
Older People's Housing Taskforce report, published in November
2024. This session will form part of the Committee's scrutiny
ahead of the Government's forthcoming long-term housing strategy.
The Government has said that the strategy, to be published later
this year, will set out its policies to address older people's
housing needs.
The cross-party Committee will hear from witnesses including
Professor Julienne Meyer CBE, Chair, Older People's Housing
Taskforce, Sonia McColl OBE, Founder, Park Home Owners JUSTICE
Campaign, Paul Teverson, Director of Communications, McCarthy
Stone, and Oliver Boundy, Executive Director of Development,
Anchor.
