Written statement (Wales): Appointment to the Ministerial Advisory Group for Unpaid Carers - June 23

Dawn Bowden, Minister for Children and Social Care: The Ministerial Advisory Group for Unpaid Carers oversees the development of our strategic priorities for unpaid carers and the agreed actions to deliver those priorities. Membership of the group includes unpaid carers and representatives of local authorities, health boards, and national carer organisations. The group has an important function to drive collaborative working to improve support for unpaid carers and raise matters of most importance to carers.

I am pleased to announce new appointments to the Ministerial Advisory Group. I have appointed Kate Cubbage, Director of Carers Trust Wales, to the role of Chair. 

I have asked Alyson Hoskins, Head of Adult Social Care Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council to fulfil the role of Deputy Chair.

Kate and Alyson bring considerable experience, skill and commitment to these roles, which are key to the ongoing work of the Ministerial Advisory Group.
