Crime statistics: Operation of police powers under TACT 2000, to March 2025

The Office for National Statistics publish crime statistics, at: ONS Crime in England and Wales.

The Home Office has responsibility for collating police recorded crime data from the police forces of England and Wales. Open data tables for police recorded crime, which underpin the data released by the ONS, are available at: Police recorded crime and outcomes open data tables

The Home Office also publishes data on certain crime types, such as hate crime, so-called ‘honour-based' abuse and crimes against businesses. Data is also published on areas related to crime, such as crime outcomes (how the police deal with crime) and drug seizures.
