Progress against the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 1 recommendations, February 2025

February 2025 update

The update published on 26 February 2025 is the ninth and final update in this series.

All phase 1 recommendations directed at London Fire Brigade, other fire and rescue services and other emergency services have been addressed. 12 of 15 government recommendations have been addressed and closed.

The remaining 3 recommendations relate to Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) and wider evacuation plans. The Deputy Prime Minister announced the government's plans to take these forward at the Grenfell debate in the House of Commons on 2 December 2024 through its residential PEEPs proposals.

As they are also phase 2 recommendations, implementation of these final 3 recommendations is now being monitored through the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government's (MHCLG) phase 2 monitoring process as part of MHCLG's phase 2 progress reports.
