Government to make statement to MPs on UK-US trade deal

The Government have decided that rather than answer an Urgent Question of the progress of talks between the UK and the US on a free trade agreement, they would make a statement to MPs instead.

This is likely to take place after 1.30pm when the Commons returns from the VE Day 80th Anniversary commemoration service at Westminster Abbey.

The statement will be delivered by Trade Minister Douglas Alexander
