UK-EU professional mobility and the UK-EU reset: what difficulties are musicians, lawyers and architects still facing?

From 3.30pm on Tuesday 1 April the Lords European Affairs Committee will hear how musicians, architects and lawyers are being impacted by issues around UK-EU professional mobility, as the committee continues its inquiry into the UK-EU reset.   

At 3:30pm, the Committee will take evidence from:   

• Deborah Annetts, Chief Executive, Independent Society of Musicians  

• Muyiwa Oki, President, Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)  

• Marco Cillario, International Policy Manager, Law Society of England and Wales 

The session will take place in Committee Room 3, Palace of Westminster, and can be watched live, or after the meeting, on Parliamentlive.tv. 

Topics for discussion are expected to include: 

• The impact of arrangements that apply to professionals when they travel to the EU to provide services  

• Challenges faced by creative professionals wishing to work and tour in the EU 

• The mutual recognition of professional qualifications 

• Measures the Government should pursue as part of the reset to facilitate professional mobility
