Conservative response to Avanti industrial action

Shadow Transport Secretary, Gareth Bacon MP, said:

"Emboldened by Labour's ‘no strings' pay agreements, Unions are once again inflicting chaos on commuters. 

"These strikes, which come less than six months after a massive pay bump was awarded to the unions, are bringing the railways to a standstill. 

"Labour's weakness is only encouraging more strike action. Under new leadership, the Conservatives would ensure that passengers are put first."
