The construction of the airport on the island of St Helena has not yet increased the island's self-generated income, expected mainly through tourism, to enable the island to become financially self-sufficient by 2043 as FCDO set out in the business case, a new NAO report says.    The airport has led to a small increase in the number of tourists, however, FCDO acknowledges that the increase in tourist numbers it expected the airport to attract was over-optimistic...Request free trial
