Details
The government has commissioned Grant Thornton to undertake a
research project to better inform our understanding of the cyber
insurance market.
The research will focus on a survey of small and medium sized
businesses from across the UK economy. The survey will run until
Friday 7 February. We are inviting leaders of SMEs from
organisations across the economy to complete the survey, whether
you have cyber insurance or not.
Stakeholders from small and medium sized enterprises
(SMEs)
which are companies that employ between 10 and 249 employees.
Participants will be asked questions regarding:
- Their understanding and awareness of cyber
insurance;
- Their own experience of the process of procuring cyber
insurance, the types and costs of cyber insurance that they have
procured;
- Their views on the benefits and limitations of cyber
insurance for SMEs.
The government and Grant Thornton can give the following
reassurances about the research:
- Taking part is totally confidential and voluntary for all
individuals and organisations.
- The questionnaire is not technical, and participants do not
need any specific IT knowledge.
Who can take part?
People responsible for making decisions about the procurement of
cyber insurance for their company across the UK can participate
in this survey. The Department for Science, Innovation and
Technology (DSIT)
and Grant Thornton have an interest in engaging people who
represent small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), which are
companies that employ between 10 and 249 employees
Timelines
Respondents will be able to provide responses to the survey from
mid-January until early February 2025. A report on the findings
will be published on gov.uk. Organisations who have taken part in
the pilot project will not be identifiable in the report.
