Conservatives: Response to Labour’s breakfast clubs announcement

A Conservative Party spokesman: 

“Under the Conservatives, we rolled out the National School Breakfast Programme to support over 2,000 schools in the most disadvantaged areas across the country, the Holiday Activities and Food Programme, and wraparound childcare funding. And we launched the biggest ever expansion of childcare, saving working parents thousands of pounds.  

“But what Labour have not done once in office is say how they are going to raise academic standards in schools, which is what we know will benefit disadvantaged children the most. In fact, the actions they've taken so far put all the progress made in the last two decades at risk.”
