Scottish Government: Call for increased help for the culture and creative sectors

Culture Minister Kaukab Stewart has urged the UK Government to take more action to help support and nurture the culture and creative sectors.

In a letter to Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Lucy Frazer ahead of the UK Spring Budget, Ms Stewart called for tax relief for theatre, orchestra and museums and galleries to be retained beyond April 2025; VAT reduced to encourage energy efficiency improvements in traditional homes; and for the UK Government to seek talks with the EU about rejoining Creative Europe sector, a vital source of funding for the sectors.
