Responding to the ONS’ reweighted Labour Market Statistics, Liz

Responding to the ONS’ reweighted Labour Market Statistics,
, Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions,
said:
“These figures provide yet more evidence of Tory mismanagement of
the economy.
“Our employment rate is even lower than previously thought and
there are at least 100,000 more people out of work due to long
term sickness than previous estimates – when this was already at
a record high.
“It’s time for change. Labour’s plan to get Britain working will
tackle the root causes of economic inactivity by driving down NHS
waiting lists, reforming social security, making work pay, and
supporting people into good jobs across every part of the
country.”
