Prime Minister said:
Good morning everyone – welcome to Number 10.
I come from a small business family, so I’ve got enormous respect
for anyone who has taken that entrepreneurial plunge and has that
entrepreneurial drive.
It’s not just about having the initial lightbulb moment – it’s
about the guts and the determination that all of you have to see
it through, and then inspire lots of other people behind your
vision.
And that’s what everyone here has done, whether it’s Tom and
Castore who came up with the idea - I think on your family table
in Wirral - and now it’s a multimillion-pound business.
All of us who were watching the cricket this weekend would have
seen Tom’s products.
I think we also have Rushina in the audience who came up with her
idea for Insane Grain around her grandmother’s kitchen table and
brought it to bakeries up and down the country.
This room is full of people who have incredible stories like
that.
My job is to help all of you succeed, because celebrating your
success is something that is good for the country.
And we need to make sure the UK is the best place in the world to
start a business, grow a business and stay in a business.
So, I’m incredibly inspired by everything that you’ve all done.
I’ll make sure others are inspired too.
Because when that happens it’s great for the UK - and you guys
are a shining example of what we need to do more of. So, thank
you all for being here.
