Carney review of women’s football: CMS Committee Chair comments on Government’s support for recommendations

Commenting on the Government’s acceptance of the recommendations in Karen Carney’s review of women’s football, CMS Committee Chair Dame Caroline Dinenage MP said:

“I welcome the Government’s unanimous acceptance of the recommendations in Karen Carney’s review into women’s football.  This is a crucial moment as the women’s game continues to grow and professionalise.

“Key to the success of women’s sport is ensuring that everyone has the facilities they need to excel, from grassroots to the Women’s Super League.  I look forward to hearing more on how the Government will help deliver what is needed, as my Committee concludes its inquiry into women’s sport in the new year.”

The Committee will take evidence, including from the Sports Minister, in the final evidence session of its inquiry into women’s sport after the Christmas recess.
