November 2023 update: we received 3,851 responses to the
consultation. The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and
Rural Affairs will reconsider whether there should be mandatory
food waste reporting in the future. The government response to
this consultation has been withdrawn.

We want to know what you think of our options for improving food
surplus and waste reporting by large food businesses in England.
We are seeking views on the following:
- options for improving food waste reporting
- types of businesses in scope
- material in scope to be reported
- the reporting process which businesses in scope will need to
follow for any regulation
- costs and impacts of any regulation
- enforcement of any regulations
