The future of council tax in Wales

The Welsh Government will today [Tuesday 14 November] publish a consultation on possible approaches to redesigning Wales’ council tax system.

The Programme for Government and the Co-operation Agreement with Plaid Cymru commit to reforming the current council tax system.

The consultation will ask peoples’ view on how to make council tax fairer, including potentially adding new council tax bands and changing the tax-rates. The consultation will also ask about the pace of change people would like to see.

The consultation will go live at 10am today.
