The following appointments and changes have been made in the past month

Government changes

• Grant Shapps appointed Defence Secretary following the resignation of Ben Wallace
• Claire Coutinho replaced Shapps as Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero
• David Johnston replace Coutinho as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Education

SNP

• Margaret Ferrier failed in her defence of a recall petition at Rutherglen and Hamilton West, forcing a by-election
• Angus Brendan MacNeil was suspended from the SNP on July 14

Commons Select Committees 

• Transport - Sara Britcliffe replaced Chris Loder

House of Lords 

• Lord Brown of Eaton-under-Heywood died on July 7
• Lord Palmer died on July 10

• Jamie Njoku-Goodwin was appointed the Prime Minister’s Director of Strategy on 31 August after three years as UK Music Chief Executive.
