Which? responds to Sainsbury's cutting prices of some essential items

Sue Davies, Which? Head of Food Policy, said:

“Which? research has found that many consumers are struggling with the price of a weekly food shop, and millions are likely to continue to do so despite these price cuts.  

"Sainsbury’s must make sure these reductions will apply to smaller convenience stores, which are often more expensive than larger stores and rarely stock budget items. 

"The big supermarkets should all be doing more to help their customers through the cost of living crisis, including by making budget ranges available in all their stores and making pricing clearer and more transparent, particularly on loyalty card offers, so consumers can easily compare prices in-store and with other supermarkets.”
