Firefighters to donate fire appliance to Palestine

Fire Brigades Union representatives attending the Scottish Trade Union Congress took delivery of a fire appliance donated by the Scottish and Fire and rescue service, the appliance will be passed on to the Fire Brigades Unions’ sister union in the Palestinian Authority.  

Speaking from Dundee, FBU General Secretary Matt Wrack said, ‘The FBU is proud of our work with our Palestinian comrades. The service they provide is hampered by the actions of the Israeli Government who prevent equipment and materials being supplied. The donation of this appliance will help keep communities safe and build resilience - we will continue to look for opportunities to provide more much needed equipment.’
